It is very easy to create web pages in free html text editors which are already built in your system like Notepad, Wordpad, Notepad++ etc. You can use open source rich text editors like Notepad++ to create and modify HTML Documents. The free tool has come up with plenty of plugins and other extensions. Every HTML File will save with an extension “.html”. Notepad: Notepad is a clean and simple text editor for create web pages. You don’t need to install it because it is an inbuilt system application in Windows OS.

How to use Notepad to edit HTML File

  1. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad
  2. Open Notepad.exe from Program Files Folder
  3. Type or copy below HTML Code in Notepad application

<head>
<title>Web Page Title</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>My First Heading</h1>

How to Save HTML File

Save the file with “.html” or “.htm” extension and Save as type is “All Files”. Both file extensions are same, don’t worry about it. After saving the document the open it in the browser by typing file path or Double click on it.

You can also try other text editors in the same way in Windows, Linux and MAC. All the desktop applications support HTML, CSS, JavaScript Lanuages.
