Learn HTML Basics

As part of these tutorials, we will discuss various basics of Web Page design in HTML. So that you have to practice these simple examples to get understand using HTML elements etc. Every HTML document contains different types of tags to organize Layout. In this article, you will learn basic tags, elements etc. If you can’t understand then read it again.

HTML Documents

We know that all HTML documents start with <!DOCTYPE html>. That defines the HTML Version used in the document. In this case, it is HTML5.

HTML Headings

HTML headings are defined by tags to given importance. For example if you use <h1></h1> tag that means it is high priority in SEO. There will be total six heading tags from <h1> to <h6>. Headings can be used to describe the content. Search engines actually index web pages content based on heading elements. HTML Heading tag used for different change font size and style.

HTML Paragraph

HTML Paragraph tags are defined by <p> tags in HTML. Paragraphs are the most basic HTML element to style content. You must use an opening and closing tag. If you want to break paragraph can use <br> tag in between paragraph. No closing tag required to add to <br>.

<p>This is a first paragraph.</p>
<p>This is a second paragraph.</p>
<br>
<p>Hello W3Tutorials.Org</p>

HTML Links

HTML Links are defined by <a> </a> tag. You want to link an external link to any text just use <a> tag. The link open destination is decided by href attribute. You will learn more details about HTML attributes section. The below line will create a hyperlink to the URL specified in href attribute. Add the anchor text “Link to w3tutorials.org”.

<a href="https://www.w3tutorials.org">Link to w3tutorials.org</a>

HTML Image

HTML Image tag defined by <img> tag. To insert images into web page you must use <img> tag with file path in src attribute. You can also set width and height to the image by using width and height attributes.
